Post 1/1

“The best way to do something is to do it.”

I’ve stopped myself from starting a blog for a very long time.

  • Can I commit?

  • Do I have time?

  • Do I have anything interesting to say?

  • Do I want my thoughts to be imprinted onto the internet forever and ever?

  • What if I change my mind?

  • What if I’m judged?

  • Where will I get photos?

  • How will I find the perfect format?

  • How should I organize it?

  • Should I hire someone?

  • Can I afford to outsource?

  • Can I afford not to?

  • How will this actually help my business?

  • Does it have to?

  • When?

…and a million other reasons to stop me from ever starting.

Sometimes I think my clients feel this way about organizing. The thought of starting is so overwhelming, and if you can’t do it perfectly - why do it at all? And who has time to do it perfectly? We start thinking so far into the future that the small(ish) thing in front of us becomes too heavy to hold, even just for a moment. So we put it off. A nagging thought, hiding in our self imposed list of obligations.  Not urgent. Not pressing. But always there.

Today, I’m choosing to start.  Just one post. One story.

Because little by little, a little becomes a lot.
